Hi! My name is Abigail Dean and I am currently working as the Communications Coordinator for Camp Paradise. I'm a graduate of Ohio University with a photojournalism major and sports administration minor.

My Career So Far 🏈

• While at OHIO, I spent four years as a student photographer for OHIO Athletics working alongside four other photographers to cover 15 Division I sports at Ohio University.

• I spent the 2021 NFL season as the Photographic Services Intern for the Indianapolis Colts and the 2022-2023 seasons as the Photography Intern for the Pittsburgh Steelers. While in these positions, I grew in my understanding of sports action, lighting, and content creation within the NFL from a franchise's point of view.

• In 2021 I joined the College Football Playoff photography team. This entails working alongside other photographers from across the country to cover the events leading up to, as well as the championship game.

• During the 2023 XFL season, I freelanced for the league photographing games and remotely editing game photos for social and franchise use.

My thoughts 📸 

• As photographers, we have a unique position to not only provide an inside look to viewers and fans, but to contribute to the narrative surrounding professional sports teams and the work they do off the field. 

• I have enjoyed the experience of working as an in house team photographer. These experiences have given me the opportunity to refine and reenforced my communication, team work, and relationship building skill. My time spent with teams has shown me the importance of not only quality work, but quality character.

• I aim to capture the raw emotion of athletes in every picture I take. I love the opportunity photojournalism provides to share the world around me, and how I see it with others.

 Some Things About Me 🙋🏻‍♀️

• I am an enneagram 1w2, an INFJ, and my working geniuses are DT-GW-EI.

• I recently adopted a cat, her name is Esther!

• In 2021, I was a Doug Pensinger Photography Fund recipient.

I am currently based in the U.P. of Michigan. I am available for work and willing to travel. I enjoy collaborating with others and supporting fellow photographers while learning from each other!
